Can still remember listening to the cassette demo in our new shared office space in D'Arblay Street ( opposite Black Market ) with the most excellent Tomato Records Crew.
We were struggling financially with our newly independent status, having managed to completely write ourselves out of all Felix / Hyper Go Go Royalties in return for the Hooj name / Trademark ( our name, our logo etc.. After Madonna, Snoop and Guetta had all used the main Felix riff between 2012 - 2015, we worked out that the name / IP cost us.... a fair bit ).
We were never in love with Son of A Gun, but it was fun, sounded like a winner from the off, and studio work with ( a then v young ) Jake / JX was only ever a top laugh, up to and including the lovely ' There's Nothing I Won't Do'. The licensing advance from FFRR / London at the time saved our asses.
