' Tall' Paul Newman 's 9/10 am >>>CLOSE sets at Trade had a big impact on early Hooj. He'd come on after 4 hrs of Daz Saund / Trevor Rockliffe's mind melting, deeply trippy, dark techno, and build into rushy, euphoric, pumping house / early prog etc, all perfectly, slammingly mixed ( as was the Trade norm - the level of technical ability in there, amidst the madness, was just another part of the whole, beautiful picture.)

Paul's dad John ( RIP) , owner of the club, would turn up in the mornings to work the lazers of doom next to Paul in the crammed booth, often with young brother Danny ( later of The Gallery fame, now premiere league festival promoter) in between them, tweaking the system. Three 6 foot 7 gentle giants, keeping it together on another chaotic sunday morning in Clerkenwell. Top, top bods.
