' Express It' first appeared on whjte label in 1992' , with the 'Skank Mix' rocking original progressive floors alongside Guerilla, Boys Own, Soma, the odd Hooj platter and the like, whilst still retaining chunks of rave sensibility and appeal, as many of the best early prog records did.
The work of post balearic bods at the Vinyl Frontier record shop in Woking, SW LDN, we didn't actually sign it until 1994, and then spent a year getting a seriously underwhelming remix package together. Sh*t happens.
Fast forward nearly three decades, and we couldn't resist another bite at the cherry, and we're feeling positive about the results.
LA based house / techno trooper Monstergetdown provides two mixes : his 'Shake Mix' goes in hard on the neo rave riffs and big, rolling drums; the 'Groove Mix' strips things back, ups the kick drum pressure and is as staunch and funky a tough-houser as you'll hear for while (DIGITAL ONLY).
'A propulsive, hypno-tech rework from Australian post lo-fi swashbuckler Fantastic Man' has already caused a stir on The Trance Trax 4 EP, and showing just how upfront this releases was, the 92' Original Skank / Techno mixes are, present, remastered, and sounding as big and floor friendly as anything out there today. The Techno Mix needs to be heard on a big system / in a dark basement somewhere, soon.
